Alice Fuscaldo is an Independent Educational Consultant who is an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultant Association (IECA) and a member of the New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling (NJACAC). She holds a certificate from UC Irvine in Educational Consulting and has been teaching and coaching for over 25 years. She's visited dozens of colleges and universities and stays current on trends in the world of higher education by attending conferences and networking with other professionals.

Alice's goal is to help each student find the college that is the best fit for them academically, socially and financially. She achieves this by personalizing her services for the individual student, getting to know them and their families, and by coaching them through each step of the college search and application process.
College List Development
The process of developing a great college list begins with in-depth interviews with the student followed by extensive research. The list is ever-evolving as the student discovers likes and dislikes and learns more about what he or she is looking for in a school.
Career/Major Assessment
Few teenagers are sure about what path they want to take - and that's OK! I utilize a comprehensive assessment tool that will help each student discover their interests and strengths and start exploring career and major options.
College Visit Preparation
Visits are the absolutely best way to see if a school will be a good fit. I spend time with students and their families explaining the best ways to make the most of a visit and providing them with tools they can use during and after their time on campus.
Interview Preparation
Admissions interviews can be nerve-wracking for teens but they are also a great way to show interest in a school and they are great practice for the future. I coach students on how to answer common interview questions, the importance of body language, and how to follow up.
Personal Statement and Supplemental Essay Guidance
The admissions essay or personal statement has become a very important part of the overall application. It gives the student a chance to share what makes them unique and why they would be a great addition to campus. I have developed an effective system for helping students identify and express their best characteristics in their own voice. We also spend time on any supplemental essays that may be required.
Application Review
The college application itself can vary from school to school. I assist students with navigating the Common App, Coalition App and individual school applications. It's much more than just filling in fields - it's important to take time and thoughtfully respond to the many questions each application requires.
